A fire broke out in a house located in the Khar suburb of Mumbai, resulting in six individuals, including two children, sustaining burn injuries. The incident occurred on a Monday morning, and it was revealed that the fire was caused by a cooking gas leakage. Sanjay Manjrekar, the chief of the Mumbai fire brigade, confirmed that the explosion occurred due to a gas cylinder explosion triggered by the leak.
The house, situated in the Khar Danda area on Govind Patil Marg, was a single-storey structure located near a bakery. At approximately 8:45 am, the unfortunate incident took place, alarming the residents and the local authorities. The Mumbai fire brigade swiftly responded to the emergency, dispatching at least four fire engines and other essential firefighting equipment to the scene.
Efficiently coordinating their efforts, the firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and extinguish it by 9:17 am. However, the consequences of the fire were severe, as six individuals suffered burn injuries ranging from 40 to 51 percent. Among the injured were two children, aged six to seven years, and a 65-year-old woman.
Following the incident, all the injured victims were immediately rushed to the nearby Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, where they were admitted for prompt medical attention and treatment. Medical professionals and staff at the hospital worked diligently to provide the necessary care and support to the burn victims.
