Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a big claim regarding the election results of Karnataka. The CM said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had a big hand behind the victory of the Congress. He said that the promises made by the Congress to the people of Karnataka and included in the manifesto were all the product of AAP.
Actually, Kejriwal is talking about those announcements of Congress, which he has already implemented in Delhi. He said that the Congress won the Karnataka assembly elections by promising free electricity, free ration and unemployment allowance in its election manifesto. The Delhi CM said that the Aam Aadmi Party has been successful in its efforts to bring about some change in the country’s political discourse as other parties are now seeking votes on issues such as education and health.
Addressing AAP leaders who won seats in the recently concluded local body elections in Uttar Pradesh, Kejriwal said, “Aam Aadmi Party has tried to change the narrative of the country’s politics. If you see the Karnataka elections, the Congress party has won on our manifesto.”
Kejriwal further said that when we promised free electricity, the Congress also said the same. We said we will give unemployment allowance, free ration and Rs 1,000 per month to women, so did the Congress. He said that BJP is also making such promises now, which earlier used to seek votes on the basis of caste and religion.
AAP won three municipality chairperson seats, six city panchayat chairperson seats and six municipal councilor seats, besides several wards, in the two-phased urban local body elections in Uttar Pradesh on May 4 and May 11.
