The person used to tell people his name as Dr. Vinay Dev and used to say that he is working in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). By giving such information, he used to win the trust of the people. The accused knows many languages including English-Hindi. In such a situation, people used to believe in him after seeing his body language and body structure. He cheated people for a long time.
The most important thing is that he used to attend many government and non-government programs as an officer of PMO and told the local administration and people that he is on a secret special visit, but his trick backfired. This person reached a program of Lash World Foundation in Aundh, Pune. The event featured the inauguration of an ambulance for aid operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
This person named Vasudev reached the program and described himself as an officer working in Delhi, who is the Deputy Secretary in the PMO. During this, some people got suspicious, so they informed the local police. On information, Crime Branch of Pune Police reached there and detained Vasudev Nirvitti Tayde alias Dr. Vinay Dev and asked for the documents.
He didn’t have ID card and anything else. Then senior officials were contacted and got the information about the officials working in PMO office, then it was found that no such person is working in PMO. The accused was immediately arrested. Basically the accused is a resident of Bhusaval in Maharashtra. What was his motive, how he used to cheat and why he used to attend the programs is being probed.
