Manipur, India: In a significant development, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday that separate judicial and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigations will be conducted into the recent violence that erupted in Manipur. The judicial investigation will be led by a retired chief judge from a high court, while a peace committee headed by Manipur’s governor, Anusuiya Uikey, will also be formed.
