Sangli: The youth of the present time has been indulging in drug addiction on a large scale, resulting in numerous incidents. Among them, a group of drug-addicted youths in Sangli city has caused chaos. They created a disturbance in front of the Congress councilor’s hotel and vandalized cars. Subsequently, Congress councilor Mayur Patil arrived at the scene to intervene. This incident occurred late on Saturday night.
According to the information received, there was a commotion surrounding the incident involving Congress councilor’s firing at a hotel in Sangli city. The enraged youth, who were smoking ganja, lodged a complaint with the police, and in response, the supporters of the councilor attacked them with sticks and vandalized cars late Saturday night. Significant damage was caused to the vehicles and the hotel. Additionally, it is known that Mayur Patil fired two rounds as an act of self-defense and protection. During the incident, the Deputy Superintendent of Police and a police force arrived at the scene.
As a result of this incident, tension escalated at the government hospital premises. Meanwhile, in connection with this incident, Congress councilor Mayur Patil has filed a complaint against 11 individuals at the Sangli city police station. The MP Residence Hotel, owned by the Congress councilor, is located near the government hospital in Sangli. This hotel premises is known for its sports facilities, where drug addiction incidents have been occurring during late nights. Mayur Patil had reported this to the police, who later took action and apprehended the drug-addicted youths. During the clash, he called on the crowd to protest against the councilor at his hotel.
At this point, the drug-addicted youths attacked the hotel and Mayur Patil’s car with full force. The car’s windows were shattered, and the councilor himself was seen running with injuries. Subsequently, Mayur Patil retrieved a revolver from his nearby vehicle and fired two rounds in self-defense. This further intensified the situation at the scene. As soon as the police received information about the incident, they rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. However, this incident created a tense environment in the vicinity, which continued until around 2 a.m.
