On my own behalf and on behalf of the Government of India, I express my condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives and those who were injured in that accident.
Significantly, 275 people have died so far in three train accidents in Balasore, while more than 1100 were injured. According to the Railway Ministry, the repair work is going on on a war footing and the officials are closely monitoring the restoration process at the accident site.
Meanwhile, while addressing a program organized on the occasion of the silver jubilee of Amrita Hospital, the Home Minister said, due to Amma’s contribution over the decades in all the four fields of religion, tradition, culture and service, not only India but Our Sanatan culture has been glorified all over the world. Amma has done the work of giving a new dimension and introduction to our culture.
Amit Shah said that Amrita Hospital has completed its golden 25 years in the field of service. In the journey from 1998 to 2023, more than 20 lakh patients were treated completely free of cost. Crores of people have got their treatment done by paying money, but by giving free treatment to 20 lakh poor people, they have done the work of giving them a new life. He told that Amrita Hospital spent about Rs 800 crores for free treatment of the poor, which shows that this institution of Amma has brought to life the sentence of ‘Seva Paramo Dharma’.
