Pune : Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Dr. Anil Ramod was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBI ACB) on Friday for accepting a bribe of eight lakh rupees. Dr. Documents from Ramod’s office, government residence and bungalow in Baner by CBI team; Also seized Rs.6 crores. Dr. Allegation of demanding bribe to pay farmers for land acquisition on the highway. It is on Ramod. CBI has taken action against an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and the revenue department is in a frenzy.
In the case of land acquisition of National Highway in Solapur district, Adv. Yakub Sahebu Tadvi had reported to CBI. CBI had laid a trap after confirming the complaint. The CBI team entered the government compound in the camp area on Friday afternoon. CBI team seized some documents from Ramod’s residence in Government Colony. Subsequently, the documents were seized from the office of Ramod in the Divisional Commissioner’s Office (Council Hall). Some documents from a bungalow in Rituparna society in Baner area; Also, cash worth Rs.6 crore was seized. The CBI team had to call for a machine to count the amount.
A CBI team detained Ramod from the Divisional Commissioner’s office. The CBI team took them to the office in Pune. Sources informed that the investigation of Ramod is going on and the process of filing a case has been started. Originally from Nanded, Ramod has been working as Additional Divisional Commissioner in Pune for two years.
The revenue officials were shocked
Dr. CBI action against Anil Ramod has shocked revenue officials in Pune. For the first time in the history of the Divisional Commissionerate, the raid by a central agency like CBI has come as a shock to the high-ranking revenue officers-employees of the Divisional Commissionerate along with the Collector’s office, the new administrative building. The news spread like wind in government offices. Ramod was cutting trees till evening. As no one was ready to speak openly about it, the action was seen to have created an atmosphere of fear among the officials of the revenue department. After the CBI team raided Ramod’s hall, the Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao along with other senior officials left the Divisional Commissionerate. A team of eight to ten people of CBI was working since morning in this operation. Later in the afternoon, the CBI officials called for lunch boxes directly in the hall.
