After days of rain and a cloudy sky, it was a beautiful Monday morning in several sections of Mumbai. Within the next 24 hours, “moderate rainfall in the city and suburbs with a possibility of occasionally intense spells” was what the Mumbai office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.
Civic officials said that in the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Monday, the island city, eastern suburbs, and western suburbs, respectively, got an average rainfall of 14.72 mm, 49.36 mm, and 44.93 mm.
The Central Railway and Western Railway corridors’ local train services, according to railway authorities, are regular. However, some commuters stated the services were 5 to 10 minutes late. Over the past week, the city saw moderate to heavy rain with a usually gloomy sky.
An official reported that Monday’s city traffic was typical. According to a BEST spokesperson, bus services provided by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport were also regular and there was no detour.
