In Nagaland’s Chumoukedima area, two persons were killed and three others were injured when a large boulder fell and smashed their automobiles on a national highway on Tuesday night. A video of the event quickly became popular on social media.
According to authorities, the incident happened at about 5 p.m. at the Old Chumoukedima police checkpoint on National Highway 29 in the midst of torrential rain. One person passed tragically immediately, while another perished from injuries while receiving care at the Referral Hospital.
An enormous boulder fell on the cars approaching from the Kohima side, as shown in a dash camera footage of the event. The collision reduced the automobiles to a mangled pile of metal in a matter of seconds. Authorities verified that the three automobiles hit by the falling pebbles were severely crushed due to the accident’s extreme power.
A truck driver and his assistant perished in April when a boulder struck their vehicle on Jammu and Kashmir’s major route between Srinagar and Jammu’s Ramban region. Both the driver and a passenger in the truck, Rajpora locals Maqsood Ahmad and Naveed Ahmad, died when the boulder struck the vehicle’s cabin while it was traveling toward Kashmir in the vicinity of Digdole. Soon after the event, rescuers arrived on the scene and assisted in removing the dead from the wrecked vehicle.
