Police said on Monday that a 28-year-old lady was discovered hanging in a room at a posh hotel in east Delhi on Sunday afternoon.
No signs of abuse were discovered on the woman’s corpse, and the hotel room was closed from the inside, according to the police, who declared the case to be a suicide. No suicide note was discovered in the room or in the custody of the lady, who worked at a government clinic in south Delhi, according to the police.
“Although the precise cause of the drastic action was unknown, it was discovered that the lady was seeing someone that her parents disapproved of. She seemed unhappy with the situation, according to deputy commissioner of police for the east Amrutha Guguloth.
The DCP noted that on Sunday around 3:30 p.m., Mayur Vihar police station was informed about a woman’s hanging at a five-star hotel. When a police squad arrived at the hotel, they discovered that the lady had only booked a single day’s stay on Friday. According to Guguloth, she told the hotel staff on Saturday that she would want to remain an extra day.
“Around 3pm, the hotel employees attempted to reach the lady to collect payment for the extra stay, but she was not available in her room. The room was locked from inside when the hotel workers arrived. The lady was discovered hanging from the room’s water sprinkler when they unlocked it with the master key. The police station was alerted as a result, the DCP stated.
According to the police, the woman’s family members in south Delhi were told about the occurrence, and as a result, her father and brother arrived at the hotel. She fled the residence on Friday without telling anybody in the family, according to their police reports. The family reported the individual missing to the Hazrat Nizamuddin police department.
“Crime spot investigation team, forensic specialists, and sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) of east district examined the scene after the occurrence. For a post-mortem examination, the corpse was sent to the Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital, said DCP Guguloth.
