In the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces detained a member of the outlawed terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen on Friday along with a Chinese grenade, according to the police.
Mohd Yousaf Chouhan, a resident of Kishtwar’s Chhar Cherji village, has been identified as the terrorist’s companion.
According to police authorities, a case was opened based on information concerning Mohd Yousaf Chouhan’s participation in activities related to terrorism.
They said that teams of police, the Army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a search operation in the district’s Cherji, Chicha, and Padyarna regions and captured a member of the Hizb.
Following his confession, police in the Cherji region found one Chinese grenade, according to the authorities. To find active terrorists in the region and further investigate leads in the case, a significant search operation has been begun, they said.
Khalil Poswal, senior superintendent of police in Kishtwar, issued a warning to young people not to fall prey to terrorist groups’ nefarious plans, which he claimed would ruin their careers and allow for swift retaliation against them.
