According to Ramdas Athawale, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Prime Minister Modi is strong enough to stand up to all opposition parties that wish to work together to defeat the BJP in the 2024 elections.
Atawale said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is very powerful under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership while speaking to ANI in Mumbai. “Opposition parties are free to band together if they so want. PM Modi can handle them all by himself. When Bihar CM Nitish Kumar met with Congressman Rahul Gandhi, a Union Minister said, “The NDA is tremendously strong under the leadership of PM Modi.
The statement from the union minister came after Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, and Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the RJD, met with Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Arvind Kejriwal, the mayor of Delhi, on Wednesday.
In order to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, the opposition parties are working to get as many opposition parties together as they can.
According to sources, there will be a gathering of the opposition parties by the end of April after talks with them. Nitish Kumar and Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, will speak with the opposition parties.
After the meeting, Kharge discussed fighting the election together. The phrase “standing together and fighting together” was also used by Rahul Gandhi. Arvind Kejriwal, the mayor of Delhi, said that the opposition parties must band together in order to defeat the BJP-led administration in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The gatherings are seen as an effort by Congress and other opposition parties to continue the “unity” shown during the Parliament’s budget session, which ended on April 6. The opposition’s demand for a JPC investigation into the Hindenburg-Adani controversy repeatedly interrupted the session.
The disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha after his conviction in a criminal defamation case by a Surat court was also criticised by the opposition parties.
Anurag Thakur, a BJP politician and minister of information and broadcasting, attacked the opposition parties on Wednesday for trying to band forces to defeat the BJP in the 2024 elections and said that they were doing so for “Maha thug Bandhan.”
“Maha Thug Bandhan is formed when political parties that engage in corruption band together. Corruption can’t be covered up. Individuals are aware that they lack leadership, policies, and intentions. Individuals do not cast ballots when they have bad intentions. They lack leadership and a policy. Voters won’t support them. This “Maha Thug Bandhan” was also created during the 2014, 2019, and UP elections, but nothing occurred since everyone knew about them, Thakur said ANI.
Rahul Gandhi called the meeting with the leaders of the Janata Dal-United and RJD a “historic step” towards the unification of the opposition and an ideological struggle.
Rahul Gandhi said they are “standing together, would fight together – for India” in a photo of Kharge and him with JD-U and RJD leaders.
“In this ideological conflict, a significant step towards opposition unity has been made today. For India, (we are) standing together and uniting in battle. On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet.
Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, the president of the Janata Dal-United, was also present at the meeting that was conducted in Kharge’s house.
The goal, according to Nitish Kumar, is to bring together as many parties as possible.
“We’ll work to bring together as many political parties as we can and advance as a team. We’ll sit down and discuss our options. We’ve spoken to each other. Those who agree with us will subsequently be considered when making future judgements. Many people would assemble, he said on Wednesday.
