The police have taken action in this matter after a video surfaced of allegedly assaulting a BMC official in Mumbai. Mumbai Police said that the Vakola police have registered a case against more than 15 people, including Uddhav Thackeray faction leader and former minister Anil Parab, for allegedly assaulting a BMC official.
Mumbai Police said that four people have been arrested in this case. Police said the four people who have been arrested for assaulting the BMC official have been identified as Sada Parab, Haji Aleem, Uday Dalvi and Santosh Kadam.
According to a Vakola police officer, Parab along with other Shiv Sena (UBT) functionaries had taken out a morcha in the H-East ward of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday afternoon and a party office in suburban Bandra was raided last week.
A delegation led by Parab reached the BMC office to meet H-East ward officer Swapna Kshirsagar. According to the FIR, he asked Kshirsagar to summon before him the officials who had taken action to demolish the party office when the pictures of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray were displayed on the board of the party office.
Shiv Sena (UBT) office-bearers allegedly manhandled BMC assistant engineer Ajay Patil (42) and also threatened him of dire consequences when some municipal corporation personnel came forward. Following the incident, BMC officials complained to Vakola police station, based on which an FIR was registered against Parab, Santosh Kadam, Sada Parab, Uday Dalvi and Haji Aleem Khan, a police official said.
