According to statistics from the Union Health Ministry released on Thursday, India has recorded 3,962 new coronavirus infections, while the number of active cases has dropped from 40,177 to 36,244 since the previous update.
The figures updated at 8 am showed that the death toll rose to 5,31,606 with 22 fatalities, including seven that Kerala reconciled.
The total number of cases using Covid was 4.49 crore (4,49,60,678).
According to the ministry, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been reported at 98.73%, and the active cases now make up 0.08 percent of all infections.
4,43,92,828 more individuals have recovered from the illness than died from it, with a case fatality rate of 1.18 percent.
The website of the ministry reports that the country has now received 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the ongoing national immunisation campaign.
On Wednesday, 299 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Maharashtra, which is 160 more than the number a day earlier. This information has been given in the bulletin issued by the Health Department. There is also news of death of a patient in the state. On Tuesday, 139 cases of Covid-19 were reported in the state. The number of patients infected with the corona virus increased to 81,66,506 and the death toll to 1,48,516 in the state. In Mumbai, 67 new cases of virus infection were reported and one patient died. According to the bulletin, 2,939 patients are currently under treatment in Maharashtra. The death rate in the state is 1.81 percent and the recovery rate of patients is 98.15 percent. The number of tests conducted so far in the state has increased to 8,70,13,504.
