Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday accused past administrations of disregarding Mathura’s development and claimed that his administration has started work on projects costing Rs 32,000 crore that, when finished, would bring back the city’s grandeur and holiness from the “Dwapar era.”
Adityanath criticised the “corrupt and impoverished system” that has existed under several administrations since Independence for having stalled Mathura’s growth while speaking to a crowd in preparation for the forthcoming municipal elections in Mathura.
According to him, the action plan for Mathura’s overall development has advanced since the Mathura Vrindavan Municipal Corporation and Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad were established in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
“It is fortunate for me that our government formed the Mathura Vrindavan Municipal Corporation in 2017. The action plan for this location’s entire development has been moved ahead with the creation of the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, the chief minister said in a statement released here.
He asked citizens to support the BJP candidate in the election so that a “triple-engine” administration could be formed. He said that at the Global Investors Summit 2023, UP got investment offers totaling Rs 35 lakh crore. He claimed that this investment would provide jobs for 50,000 young people in the Braj area.
“India has transformed today, and we must participate in this transformation. Airports, IITs, and AIIMS are examples of significant infrastructure and building projects that are now finished on time. The revitalization of locations like Kashi, Ayodhya, Kedarnath, and Mahakal is a consequence of historical appreciation. India has changed, according to Adityanath.
India has achieved self-sufficiency since 2014. The capacity of this New India and that of Uttar Pradesh must be united, he said, adding that the nation’s economy has grown recently.
A “hub of hooliganism” previously existed in Mathura, according to the chief minister, who said this about Jawahar Bagh. Kosi Kalan used to be the scene of rioting, but PepsiCo India built one of the biggest production facilities there, he said.
“In Mathura and Vrindavan, the selling of meat spirits has been absolutely outlawed by our administration. Nobody is permitted to tamper with this location’s sacredness, he remarked. It is our obligation to restore the magnificence of Barsana, Gokul, and Govardhan, he added, adding that Banke Bihari’s Dham would be developed in a similar manner as Kashi (Varanasi).
From this perspective, the next municipal election is significant, he said. The chief minister attacked the previous administration, saying, “Before 2017, persons associated with a certain party used to go about with ‘tamanchas’ in their hands. The young people of today have tablets in their hands. While there used to be fear of criminals, the city is now secure. There used to be mountains of waste there, but now it’s a smart city.
