At Mumbai’s Sion station, a worker with the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) was killed when he was crushed beneath a suburban train. The victim was assaulted by a guy after a violent dispute, and he then fell on the tracks and below the train.
Dinesh Rathod, age 26, was found dead, and Avinash Mane, age 31, was found to be the suspected attacker. In relation to this event, which happened on Sunday, Mane and his wife Sheetal (30) were both taken into custody.
An MSRTC employee and Sheetal Mane got into a fight after she descended off the train, according to a Government Railway Police (GRP) official. Avinash Mane checked on the issue in the meanwhile and discovered that Rathod was mistreating his wife.
After that, Rathod and Mane got into a furious confrontation, and during their verbal spat, Mane punched Rathod. The MSRTC employee then lost his balance and fell to the ground, where he was subsequently run over by a suburban train, according to the GRP officer.
Based on evidence from witnesses and station CCTV video, police detained Avinash Mane in the Dharavi neighborhood. Later, the police also apprehended Sheetal, Mane’s wife. The Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and others were used to charge the pair.
