Five of the employees were pronounced dead upon arrival at the neighboring hospital, it was said, adding that “all of them were rushed there.”
It said that an investigation was ongoing into an accidental death case that had been reported to the Sonpeth police station.
“In July 2022, the government informed the Lok Sabha that 188 people had died while undertaking hazardous cleaning of sewer and septic tanks since 2019,” it was said.
