Many political insiders, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, believe that the BJP-run Centre is considering giving elder Pawar a major cabinet post as a result of the meeting between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party. However, the 82-year-old made clear his position and said he would not support the BJP but rather seek to bring about a change in 2024.
However, Prithviraj Chavan, a former chief minister of Maharashtra, was not persuaded. He said in a statement: “Ajit and Sharad Pawar have met three times. It seems unlikely that they were spontaneous, despite what we were told. There was a recent meeting between Ajit, Senior Pawar, and Jayant Patil. There were initial efforts to refute this encounter. Evidently, Senior Pawar has received a communication. There hasn’t been a denial of this statement, however.
The August 12 encounter between the NCP founder and Ajit Pawar at the Pune home of industrialist Atul Chordiya had political circles buzzing with rumors. Additionally, it was not warmly received by the Congress or the Shiv Sena faction headed by former CM Uddhav Thackeray.
The sessions, according to the former chief minister, have caused a great deal of misunderstanding, even among NCP members. “Sharad Pawar has not made any conclusive statements. Since the split on July 2nd, which has already been a month and a half, he has not taken any political action against the Ajit side, with the exception of one meeting, continued the former CM.
Although Sharad Pawar has recently said that he is staying put, Chavan had previously stated that MVA employees were eagerly anticipating what he would say in Beed.
Speaking of the party’s position for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chavan stressed the significance of each MVA party making the most possible contribution to the INDIA candidate.
Congress evaluated each of the 48 Lok Sabha seats after the split, but they did not examine the actual situation on the ground. “We are the only party that has never allied with the BJP or any party with a sectarian agenda. Sena undoubtedly performed its own workout. The former Chief Minister said, “We will all meet together and figure out a seat-sharing plan.
The leader further said that he is willing to join any party or anybody who chooses to join the battle against the BJP.
“Nothing Sharad Pawar does will have an impact on MVA. Whether the NCP members are there or not, MVA will continue, according to Chavan.
Sharad Pawar put an end to rumors on Wednesday that the Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT) were putting together a “Plan B” to run in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections without his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) section.
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is made up of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).
“The rumors of a ‘Plan B’ by Congress and Sena-UBT to jointly challenge elections are false. There is no such strategy in place. We are prepared for the shift that would be necessary in 2024, Sharad Pawar said reporters in Aurangabad on Thursday before his rally in the Beed district of Maharashtra.
