Maharashtra News Live Updates: Kejriwal and Thackeray to Hold Meeting Today
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, is set to meet Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in Mumbai today. The meeting will focus on various issues concerning both states. Kejriwal intends to discuss matters related to Delhi, including the recent ordinance passed by the Central Government regarding administrative services in the national capital. Thackeray, on the other hand, plans to address the pressing concern of drought in Maharashtra during the discussion.
Kejriwal is currently on a nationwide tour, aiming to meet with Opposition leaders and garner their support against the Centre’s ordinance. Prior to this meeting, he has already engaged with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and is scheduled to have a discussion with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren later today.
The meeting between Kejriwal and Thackeray holds significant importance as the Shiv Sena is currently facing a rebellion from a faction of its MLAs. The leader of the rebels, Eknath Shinde, has been staying in Guwahati along with more than 30 MLAs.
This meeting is also seen as an opportunity for Kejriwal to establish a connection with the Shiv Sena and other Opposition parties in Maharashtra. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is planning to contest the upcoming Assembly elections in the state and hopes to make headway into the Shiv Sena’s vote bank.
