IRS officer Sameer Wankhede moved the Bombay High Court on Friday in an alleged ₹25 crore extortion case in connection with the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in 2021. Sameer Wankhede has said that there were allegations of corruption against me earlier as well and at that time the Mumbai Police had investigated it and no evidence was found against me. Nothing will be found even on the allegations of CBI. Sameer Wankhede has given information about WhatsApp chat in the court.
Wankhede said in his appeal that the CBI action against him was an act of revenge. Urgent hearing has been allowed at 2.30 pm. The former chief of NCB’s Mumbai zone on Thursday did not appear before the CBI summons after he was granted protection from arrest till May 22 by the Delhi High Court. The Delhi High Court had on May 17 granted liberty to Sameer Wankhede to approach the Bombay High Court for further relief. In the Delhi High Court, he also sought a cross-FIR against NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh.
Former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede did not appear before the CBI for questioning on Thursday. Wankhede and others are accused of allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan in the name of saving Aryan Khan in the 2021 Cardelia Cruz drug case. However, due to lack of sufficient evidence, the NCB did not include Aryan Khan’s name in the charge sheet. At the same time, Wankhede on Thursday alleged that he was humiliated and harassed during the investigation. According to sources, based on the NCB investigation conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, an FIR was registered against Wankhede and four others for allegedly demanding bribe from Shahrukh Khan. Following this, Wankhede had earlier offered to appear before the agency on Thursday. Officials said Wankhede did not turn up for questioning on Thursday.
