At the ATP Finals in Turin, local favorite Jannik Sinner and defending champion Novak Djokovic are grouped together. Djokovic has to win only one match to secure the top spot in the world at the end of the year.
Djokovic was drawn into the Green Group for the round-robin portion of the season-ending, eight-man finals, which will see him face Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, and Sinner. The draw took place on Thursday.
The Red Group, which also included of Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Alexander Zverev, is led by second-seeded Carlos Alcaraz.
Each group’s top two players go on to the semifinals.
Djokovic is attempting to win the tournament for a record seventh time. Since losing to Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final in July, he has not dropped a set. At now, he and Roger Federer have the same record of six wins.
Zverev is the only player with two tournament victories; Medvedev and Tsitsipas each have one.
The championship match is set on November 19 and the tournament begins on Sunday.
