The country has got great success in the field of defense. DRDO has successfully test-fired the new generation ballistic missile Agni Prime. The test was conducted on 07 June from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. This test done at 7.30 pm was successful. The missile met all its parameters. During this test, the missile successfully met all the parameters and objectives set.
First pre-induction night launch
This was the first pre-induction night launch after three successful developmental trials of the Agni prime missile. This was done to measure the accuracy and reliability of the system. Two downrange vessels were deployed at the terminal point to cover the entire trajectory of the missile and capture the flight data. Along with this, range instrumentation like radar, telemetry and electro-optical tracking systems were deployed at various locations. Senior officials from DRDO and Strategic Forces Command witnessed the successful flight test.
Earlier on June 1, India had successfully conducted a training launch of the Agni-1 ballistic missile. During this test, all the operational and technical parameters of the strategic weapon were verified. The Defense Ministry said the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) launched the missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. “A medium-range ballistic missile Agni-1 was successfully test-fired by the Strategic Forces Command from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha on June 1, 2023,” the ministry said in a statement. It has been said that this missile is capable of hitting the target from a very high altitude. Through this launch, all the operational and technical parameters of the missile were successfully verified.
