In the 1960–61 Test series against Pakistan, Nadkarni set a world record by delivering 21 consecutive first-ball overs, making him famous for his outstanding bowling display. He worked as a coach and selector for the Indian team after he stopped playing cricket. He also provided commentary for All India Radio. At the age of 86, Nadkarni died away on January 17, 2020.
