CEO of a tech company in Mumbai dies after speeding car hits her
A 42-year-old old women died on Sunday after being knocked down by a car at Worli sea-face promenade in south Mumbai during her morning walk. The deceased Rajalakshmi Vijay was the CEO of mumbai based Altruist Technologies, an IT and telecommunication firm.
According to the police the accident took place near Worli Milk dairy at around 6.30am ,Her husband was also jogging along with her but when he reached Shivaji Park he got a call from the police and rushed to the spot.
After the incident, the local people seized the driver of the Tata Nexon car, Sumer Merchant, and handed him to the Worli police. Eyewitnesses informed the police that the car was at a very uncontrollable speed.
The police have filed a case against the 23-year-old driver under suitable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rash and negligent driving, and causing death by negligence. He also got minor injuries in the accident.
