Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, said on Friday that his administration supports Manipur-born students studying in the state and asked them to get in touch with the appropriate district collectors if they run into any difficulties.
Since the ethnic conflict erupted in the northeastern state on May 3, several people have died and been wounded.
Gehlot said in a Hindi tweet: “Due to the ongoing violence in Manipur, students studying in Rajasthan who have any problems should contact the district collector’s office or 181 of the concerned district.”
He said, “It is the duty of educational institutions and all of us Rajasthanis to assist all of our Manipuri brothers and sisters who are away from their homes and are facing challenging circumstances. The Rajasthani government is on your side during this trying time.
