The body of Himani Narwal, a lady who worked for the Congress, was discovered in a suitcase in the Rohtak District of Haryana’s Sampla police station on March 1. Notably, Narwal had taken part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was led by Rahul Gandhi. Savita, her mother, has made grave accusations in interviews with the media. She claimed that because of internal strife, her daughter could have been murdered by a member of the Congress Party.
Himani’s mother claimed in her statement that her daughter put her life at danger for the Congress Party. She had been employed by the party for the previous ten years, putting her schooling on hold. However, she ultimately died because of the party and the elections. She said that her internal rivalry was the reason behind her death.
She responded, “I suspect the people she was always with, those from the party gatherings,” when asked whether she had any suspicions about anyone. Who else might it be?
She added that because her friends could not “accept how she had progressed at such a young age,” her daughter had told her that animosity originated within the party itself. The last time Himani’s mother spoke to her was on the evening of February 27, upon her return to Delhi from Rohtak, she told the journalists.
Himani had informed her that she might not be able to answer her calls because of an event scheduled for the following day, February 28. On the 28th, there was no communication between her and her mother, despite her assurance that she would call back as she got home. The phone was turned off when her mother attempted to call her.
She went on to say she was optimistic about her daughter. “I will not administer my daughter’s last rites if justice is not served. “Justice, please,” Himani’s mother continued.
Speaking to the media, she stated that the police had stated that they were looking into the matter. At a time when the state was holding elections for local bodies, she wondered how such a crime could occur.
Additionally, Himani’s mother blamed Congress officials for failing to contact her. “Neither has anyone come to our house or called us,” she stated. She told reporters that Himani had a strong relationship with Congress MP Deepinder Hooda’s wife, Asha Hooda.
In a separate statement, Himani’s mother said that Asha Hooda and MP Hooda were aware of the animosity she faced within the party, as was everyone else at the party headquarters. She stated, “Immediately following Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra, she was a sore thumb to a few people.” Some questioned how, given her youth, she was able to progress so swiftly. Hooda Sahab, Batra Sahab, and Asha Hooda were all aware of this. Everyone was aware of this. During elections, she used to labour till two in the morning. Not a single one of them visited us today. I tried calling Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s wife, Asha Hooda, but she didn’t answer.
“No one showed up to greet us.” Congress leaders are criticised by Himani’s brother for failing to connect with
Jatin, Himani’s brother, discussed the incident with the media. He claimed that there were numerous CCTV cameras in the colony where Himani resided. Himani’s body was discovered in a suitcase that had come from their home. “The administration would have caught the criminals by now if they wanted to,” he claimed. The administration is not collaborating, in my opinion.
He also repeated his mother’s claim that she might have been murdered by a member of the Congress Party. He claimed that some were envious of her rapid ascent through the party’s ranks.
Jatin further said that he and his mother were not contacted by Congress leaders. “My mother tried calling Asha Hooda herself, but nobody answered,” he claimed. Last night, there were just two Congress Party ladies present. Nobody else has contacted or stepped forward to meet us.
A BJP leader promised that the truth would be revealed.
“The accusations are serious,” stated Haryana Minister Anik Vij. This has also been done by members of Congress. Congress has a long history of pushing people back to advance. This is being looked at by the police. Whatever truth is revealed, it will be pursued through to its end.
Congressmen called for a prompt probe.
Congressman and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Hooda told reporters, “It is a very painful incident.” Haryana’s law and order situation is collapsing. When it comes to crimes against women, Haryana leads the nation. As soon as possible, the issue should be looked into. I spoke with SP and am in contact with police officers. They are hoping that by the evening, they will have some hints. I advised them to look into this and to punish those responsible as severely as possible. If someone is guilty, they are guilty, regardless of who it is. Anyone found guilty, whether inside or outside the party, should receive the worst penalty possible. On February 28th, I went to Chandigarh and had no events.
“This has shaken the people of not just Haryana but the entire country,” stated Congress MP Deepender Hooda. Haryana is once again illustrating how law and order have failed. We insist on a high-level probe and the quick formation of a SIT. Justice should be served to the deceased’s family, and the offenders should be exposed. We will fight for justice in every way we can. Until the family of the deceased receives justice, we will keep speaking out. No guilty person should be exempted.
“All our leaders have demanded from the government that there be an immediate and impartial investigation so that the truth comes out as to how our Congress worker was brutally murdered,” stated Congress president Pawan Khera. This incident is very horrifying. We’re hoping the government will act right now.
Congressman Sandeep Dikshit stated, “The Haryana Minister should know more about this, but if there is any political involvement, it should be looked into.” We also insist on a thorough investigation into the case.
Police are looking at the case from a variety of perspectives.
Investigating officer SI Narender told the reporters, “The FSL team was contacted once the body was discovered, and they gathered all the necessary evidence from the scene. The postmortem would be performed when the deceased was identified. Following the confirmation of both facts by the evidence we already possess and the upcoming report, we will proceed with additional measures. Based on our initial observations, we have filed a murder case. According to the deceased’s family, she worked for Congress while pursuing a legal education. Although we are considering the situation from a variety of perspectives, we will act by the reports and evidence that point to it.
“It was around 11 am when I saw the body of a girl in a suitcase,” one of the eyewitnesses, a street seller, told ANI. Here a crowd had assembled. Police also arrived here. The body was wrapped in a blanket when they brought it out.
The deceased corpse was covered in a blanket when it was removed from the luggage, according to another eyewitness who spoke to ANI. “I came from Rajasthan when I noticed a crowd here,” she remarked. The girl must be between the ages of 20 and 22. The suitcase contained her blanket-wrapped body. There was her “chunni” lying there.
The matter is currently being investigated further.
