With the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Delhi Police’s Special Cell has detained Deepak “Boxer,” one of the capital’s most wanted criminals, in Mexico, according to police on Tuesday. A Special Cell team is now in Mexico and has captured the gangster, who would be taken to India, a top police official informed PTI.
When mobster Jitendra Gogi was assassinated in this city’s Rohini court complex last year, Deepak became the leader of the Gogi gang. He was sought for in relation to the shooting death of builder Amit Gupta, who died on August 23 of last year in Burari in north Delhi after being shot several times in the left leg and abdomen.
On Facebook, Deepak took blame for Gogi’s death, claiming that they murdered him because of his affiliation with the rival Tillu gang. They believed Gupta had provided police with information on Fazza, who was slain in a confrontation.
