On Thursday night in Mumbai, two groups got into a fight during a Ram Navami parade, according to the police. An official said that the altercation happened near Malvani in the area of Malad (West), Mumbai, where several individuals protested to the procession’s loud music and high-volume DJ.
In between Several of the participants allegedly pelted stones at individuals, which he claimed caused panic. Police, however, declined to corroborate the stone-throwing event. He said that force was used to disperse the gathering after more police officers were sent to the area.
The official said that the now everything is under control in the region. Top police officers and local leaders made peace appeals while visiting the region and also appealed to the people to maintain peace.
Afterwards, members of a right-wing group assembled in front of the Malvani Police Station and urged that individuals who are accused of throwing stones be brought to justice.
