The central government has urged the farmers who are protesting to convene the fifth round of negotiations. Arjun Munda, the union minister of agriculture, stated on Wednesday that the government is prepared to talk about any unresolved matters, such as MSP, burning of stubble, filing of FIRs, etc. Tractor-riding farmers demonstrated at multiple district offices, opening a new front for farmer leader Rakesh Tikait’s BKU in western Uttar Pradesh.
We are prepared to speak with farmers about topics such as crop diversification, FIR, stubble, and MSP during the fifth round of meetings. Munda stated today, “I beg them to uphold the peace, and we should have a conversation to find a resolution.
He said that the farmers’ side has not responded to the offer from the centre.
“As of yet, there has been no information from the farmers. We kindly request that we proceed with the talks and express our position. The administration is eager to go and resolve the issue as well,”.
The farmers continued their Delhi Chalo march on Wednesday. They are asking that the government provide MSP support for all crops. The Haryana police launched tear gas shells, but the farmers, armed with gas masks, bulldozers, and earthmovers, rushed forward.
The Haryana police have since issued a warning to the owners of the heavy equipment warning them to stay away from the protests or face legal consequences.
Meanwhile, the DGP of Punjab has issued orders directing all Punjab’s relevant officers to halt the movement of such machinery to the Punjab-Haryana borders in response to the Haryana government’s concerns about the agitated farmers using JCBs, Poclaines, Tippers, Hydras, and other heavy machines at the Shambhu border.
Western UP protests
Rallying on their tractors, a large group of farmers arrived at the collectorate at Muzaffarnagar and set up a dharna.
Naresh Tikait, the president of BKU, and Rakesh Tikait are probably going to take part in the tractor march.
Additionally, BKU employees and farmers conducted a tractor march in the vicinity of the Shamli tehsil. The police halted the farmers when they attempted to bring the tractors inside the tehsil. Later on, nevertheless, farmers entered the tehsil while driving tractors.
In addition, there were comparable demonstrations at Saharanpur, Bagpat, Meerut, Hapur, Sambhal, and Amroha.
