According to party insiders, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will go to West Bengal on Monday to open a famous Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata.
He would fly into the eastern city at 3 p.m. and spend just a short time there before departing for New Delhi in the late afternoon.
According to the BJP councillor who also serves as the head of the puja committee, “Amit Shah ji will officially open our Santosh Mitra Square puja around 4 pm.”
The BJ Block neighborhood Durga Puja, which is located on Salt Lake’s eastern outskirts, was officially opened by Shah in 2019.
The West Bengal BJP was the first and only party in the state to begin its own Durga Puja festivities in 2020. The next editions took place in 2021 and 2022.
But starting in 2023, the state BJP said it will stop hosting the puja.
