At a United Nations press briefing on Tuesday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the former foreign minister of Pakistan and chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), was humiliated after a foreign journalist exposed his anti-Indian propaganda for making baseless accusations that Muslims were being “demonised” in India.
Speaking about Kashmir, Zardari claimed that “Muslims were being demonised in India.” The UN headquarters is where the statements were made.
“You claimed that the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir is being used as a political tool to demonise Muslims in India,” the journalist said in response to Zardari’s assertions. Zardari was embarrassed when the journalist noted, “But, sir, I have watched briefings on both sides and as far as I recall, Muslim Indian military officers were conducting the briefings on the Indian side.”
“As far as the operations are concerned, you’re right,” Zardari stated.
Bilawal Bhutto is presently at the helm of a nine-member parliamentary delegation to the United States, charged with articulating Pakistan’s perspective on the recent tensions with India.
The delegation engaged with the UN Secretary-General, the president of the UN General Assembly, and the ambassadors representing the 14 nations within the 15-member UN Security Council, which notably includes the envoys from China and Russia, as reported by Geo News.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistani delegation will be present in the United States concurrently with an Indian parliamentary delegation, headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, which aims to emphasise India’s unwavering stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
