“Four Killed in Shooting Incident at Bathinda Military Station in Punjab, India”
Early on Wednesday morning, a shooting incident occurred at Bathinda Military Station in Punjab, resulting in the death of four individuals. According to a senior officer, the incident was reported around 4:35 am, and Station Quick Reaction Teams were immediately activated. The area has been cordoned off and sealed as a search operation is currently underway.
Although initially suspected to be a terrorist attack, the Punjab Police have now classified the incident as a “fratricidal incident.” Punjab’s Additional Director General of Police, SPS Parmar, clarified that it was not an attack from an external source. The Ministry of Defence, Army Headquarters, police, and sister agencies have been informed about the incident, and a high alert has been issued.
Bathinda Military Station is a significant military installation that houses the headquarters of 10 Corps, which falls under the jurisdiction of the South Western Command based in Jaipur. The station is also home to several operational Army units and other static establishments.
