Customs officials got a big success at Mumbai International Airport. Here the custom team has caught a person who was carrying 240 grams of gold hidden inside his stomach. The name of the arrested person is Intizar Ali. Intizar Ali, 30, revealed during interrogation that he had swallowed seven gold pieces sealed in a plastic foil.
Accused was hiding 240 grams of gold
After the disclosure of the accused, the officials of the Customs Department got his X-ray done at JJ Hospital. This was confirmed in X-ray. Disclosing the matter, custom officials said that the value of the recovered gold is about Rs 1.5 crore. The officials also informed that the man was taken to JJ Hospital. Where a team led by Dr. Ajay Bhandarwar, head of the surgery department, took out all the 7 gold pieces from the man’s stomach in a natural way.
Doctors extracted gold from the stomach of the accused
The accused was put on a high fiber diet as part of the plan. In which the accused was fed 1 dozen bananas per day. The Customs further stated that till now such modus operandi of drug smuggling was known to them but smugglers rarely use this modus operandi to smuggle gold.
