To further increase the potential for religious and sports tourism, the Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) has chosen to create a sports city in the area.
According to the Rapti Nagar expansion plan, the GDA has designed the sports city on more than 25 acres of land, according to GDA vice-chairman Mahendra Singh Tanwar. Soon, a team of engineers will go to Mumbai and Bengaluru to gather inspiration for the projected sports city’s architectural design.
He remarked, “A new township foundation stone for sports city would soon be laid. There would be an indoor stadium, sports clinic, residential flats, and meeting hall in the same premises for sports fans.”
The GDA has designed a specialized sports facility to highlight the socioeconomic strength of the city in order to boost the likelihood that the city will host the national championship.
Separately, Gorakhpur’s Ramgarh Lake has lately become a popular tourist destination. Therefore, in order to improve the Ramgarh Lake’s aesthetics, GDA has chosen to build a 6-km Ring Road around it.
The lake’s natural water body will be protected by the Ring Road from Pandey Ganj, which would help improve local traffic flow. For those who value environment and quiet, GDA also intends to grow trees and provide seats around the lake.
Divisional commissioner Ravi Kumar said that the pricing of different kinds of plots in the much-discussed “Medcity” near the Deoria bypass has also been authorized by the GDA board.
Along with the 2,700 plots under the Rapti Nagar and Taramandal Scheme, chief engineer Kishan Singh said that roughly 700 plots had been designated for the new city.
