The National Maritime Week would provide a chance to improve people’s connections to the nation’s rich nautical heritage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked on Friday.
“May it also energize current efforts toward port-led development and using our coastlines for economic success,” he said.”
In preparation for National Maritime Day on April 5, the government has started a number of activities as part of National Maritime Week.
Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, said that National Maritime Day honors India’s long heritage of nautical culture.
On Thursday, he tweeted: “Honored to pin the first Merchant Navy Flag on PM Shri Narendra Modi ji’s lapel to mark the beginning of the National Maritime Week, 2023.”
