Former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has given a big statement. Uddhav Thackeray said, ‘2024 will be a turning point for the country. If this (BJP) government comes to power again, I don’t think democracy will survive here. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said, it is the common people who will save democracy. In a two-part interview with Sanjay Raut, Rajya Sabha member and executive editor of Saamana, she spoke on a range of topics and the current political situation in Maharashtra and India.
The interview will be aired on July 26 and 27 on the Shiv Sena’s (UBT) YouTube channel and will appear in the Marathi newspaper, the party’s mouthpiece Saamana and its Hindi tabloid edition Dophar Ka Saamana (Saamana Hindi).
In a promo of the interview, titled – ‘Awaaz Maharashtracha Kutumbpramukhchancha’ (Voice of Maharashtra’s family head!) – released on the social media platform, Uddhav Thackeray talks about toppling the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, which he led from November 28, 2019 to June 30, 2022. On bringing down his government, Thackeray said: “…the government was not in the books…the dam was broken by the crab”.
On a question, Thackeray said that bowing down before Delhi is not our culture. “Uddhav Thackeray is not just a person, Uddhav Thackeray means the thoughts of Balasaheb,” he said. Hitting out at the BJP, he said, “Those who did not take responsibility for Babri (mosque demolition), how can they take credit for Ram Mandir?”
