On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that Telangana will have moderate to heavy rain over the following several days. Additionally, it has issued a warning about isolated areas in various districts seeing severe to very heavy rain over the next three days.
The Met Center in this city said in its seven-day prediction and farmers’ weather advisory for Telangana released on Monday night that isolated areas in various districts are very likely to experience severe to very heavy rain from 8.30 AM on July 25 to 8.30 AM on July 28.
Additionally, it said that between July 25 at 8.30 AM and July 29 at 8.30 AM, isolated areas in various regions are expected to experience severe rain. Meanwhile, Hyderabad was hit hard by rain on Monday evening, which caused several areas of the roadways to get flooded. It caused traffic to flow slowly, which made it difficult for those who were leaving workplaces.
N Prakash Reddy, director of enforcement, vigilance, and disaster management for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), urged residents of Hyderabad to avoid needless travel and to go outside only when absolutely required. The Director said in a tweet that the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams are on notice and that the public may contact GHMC via phone for help.
As a “precautionary measure,” Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan pleaded with the populace to pay attention to the warning and exercise caution. The Zonal Commissioners of the municipal body were given instructions by GHMC Mayor Vijaya Lakshmi R Gadwal to examine the situation in order to avert any loss of life or property as a result of the heavy rain.
She advised the EVDM staff to take action to drain any standing water. In the meanwhile, the BJP Telangana branch has postponed the dharna that was scheduled for Tuesday in order to increase pressure on the BRS administration to carry out its promise of two bedroom homes for the underprivileged. This is due to the predicted for heavy rain.
