Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Friday that he would organize a nonviolent protest movement against the government and to show support for the judiciary after Eid.
The outgoing prime minister said that the ruling parties intended to assault Zaman Park and detain as many people as possible in order to intimidate them into withdrawing from the election.
According to the source, “Their objective is to target Zaman Park once again after the 27th Ramadan and they are attempting to carry out a round-up to terrorize the populace into not running in the election.”
He also brought up the subject of police violence, citing Shahbaz Gill, the PTI leader, who was purportedly tortured.
Imran said that Gill had not yet fully recovered from being tortured while hanging upside down while nude, and that the degree of brutality and torture had risen due to the addition of a new police officer to the station.
“I requested that General Bajwa and the current Army Commander investigate the situation. The Supreme Court is being split apart in an effort. I’ll return to the streets if they attempt. I will personally lead the demonstration, the former prime minister said.
He said that holding elections was the primary duty of the interim administration.
Imran Khan claimed that although 3000 party members have been detained by the police so far, not a single PMLN member has been detained by the police throughout the nation. He further claimed that all institutions are working with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) to achieve their victory.
Khan said that a number of individuals, including Ali Amin, Iftikhar Ghumman, Shahid Hussain, Azhar Mishwani, and others, were detained to undermine party members.
He said that his housekeeper and chef were from Bani Gala and Zaman Park, respectively, and added that he had dismissed two staff for putting recording devices in his home.
He cautioned against efforts to “install thieves and dacoits onto us,” saying that such actions are “ignorant of history as well as politics” and have in the past sparked revolutions against established governments.
While admonishing against providing any respite to those embroiled in corruption scandals, Imran Khan reaffirmed that his administration will not tolerate the on-going tyranny and injustice.
He asked all groups working for the “restoration of democratic governance” to support him in his “fight for democracy.”
