The Shiv Sena (UBT) said on Friday that political parties must have a huge heart in the national interest to inspire trust among voters if democracy is to endure until 2024. This was in advance of the gathering of opposition parties in Patna.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the K Chandrasekhar Roa-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have national aspirations, but doing so would indirectly benefit Prime Minister Narendra Modi and enable “dictatorship,” according to an editorial in the party publication “Saamana.”
In many states, both of these parties are directly competing with the Congress and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). In an effort to establish itself in Maharashtra, the BRS has been staging demonstrations there.
“Political leaders must have a strong heart for the national interest if democracy is to endure beyond 2024. It will inspire voters’ confidence if everything works well, it said.
In order to lay out a plan for the development of an anti-BJP front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, top leaders of opposition parties are convening on Friday in the capital of Bihar.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, is calling the meeting. Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, Hemant Soren, and M K Stalin are his equivalents in Delhi, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu, respectively. Sharad Pawar, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party, and Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), are among the leaders present at this conference.
The writer predicted that PM Modi will make some effort to undermine the unity of the opposition.
If there is a straight contest on 450 seats, the BJP will lose. Many states have shown that Modi is vulnerable despite his deceitful tactics, it continued.
If opposition leaders discuss in earnest at the Patna summit, the Sena (UBT) said, they may overthrow the authorities who reject the rule of law, the Constitution, and the judiciary.
It would be inaccurate to state that the BJP’s rivals are congregating in Patna, but it would be proper to state that “patriotic” parties are banding together to defend the nation’s Constitution and democracy, it said.
The nation is moving in the direction of a dictatorship. The nation’s democracy and freedom are under jeopardy. According to the BJP, Modi and his group are certain that national agencies must be used to defeat the opposition.
These are all indicators of a dictatorship, it continued.
