West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated on Tuesday that her government would create 1.25 lakh new posts across several sectors over the next few months, just before of the upcoming panchayat elections.
At the state secretariat in Nabanna, she made the news that 11,000 elementary teachers, 14,500 secondary school teachers, 20,000 police officers, 12,000 Group D staff members, and 3,000 Group C staff members will be hired.
In addition, there will be appointments for 7,000 nurses, 2,000 professors, and physicians, as well as 9,493 Anganwadi staff and 13,926 Anganwadi volunteers. She pleaded the opposing parties not to “indulge in politics” when it came to hiring drives. The least they could do, she said, was not put obstacles in the way of their appointment.
