In a slow pitch in Lucknow, India scored a creditable 229/9 against England.
Indian pacers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah combined for seven wickets in the second half, putting up amazing displays.
By stopping the English team at 129 runs, their valiant efforts enabled India to win by 100 runs.
On November 2, India and Sri Lanka will play in Mumbai’s famed Wankhede Stadium.
In their first match of the competition, Sri Lanka was defeated by South Africa by 102 runs, which did not bode well for them.
They lost their subsequent matches against Australia and Pakistan before winning back-to-back matches against the Netherlands and England.
They played Afghanistan in their last game and lost by a total of seven wickets. They will be eager to return to their winning ways at this point.
