The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, kicked off a mega roadshow in Bengaluru, Karnataka today to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates who are running in the upcoming May 10 state assembly elections. The roadshow covers a distance of 26.5 km in Silicon City and is the second roadshow in the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha Constituency, following the first one from Nice Road Junction to Sumanahalli Circle in Bengaluru North Constituency during Modi’s previous visit. The BJP is heavily relying on Modi’s rigorous electioneering to secure a victory in the 2023 polls.
During the roadshow, BJP activists and supporters lined up on either side of the road, waving and greeting the Prime Minister. To accommodate the event, 34 roads were closed from 8 am to 1 pm, and the Bengaluru Police advised people to take alternative routes. Additionally, an 8 km roadshow is scheduled for Sunday from Thippsandra’s Kempegowda statue to Trinity Circle, which will begin at 10 am.
