With the advent of a new, reasonably priced non-AC train, Indian Railways is poised to provide an exciting potential for the average person in a significant advancement.
The authorities are now working to produce a brand-new train outfitted with enhanced second-class unreserved and second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches after the successful deployment of Vande Bharat Express trains.
Although the train’s name hasn’t been decided upon yet, the main goal is to provide regular people a better traveling experience.Many attributes of the famous Vande Bharat Express trains are thought to be included in the new train.
It’s vital to keep in mind, however, that the new, contemporary train will be loco pulled rather than self-propelled like the Vande Bharat Express. The distinction between this new train and the majority of Indian Railways trains, which are typically pulled by a single engine, lies in the presence of locomotives at both ends. Push-pull technology may be used with this clever setup, allowing for quicker acceleration. Additionally, by doing away with locomotive reversing at the finishing station, turnaround time is decreased.
In addition to 8 second-class unreserved coaches and 12 second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches, the LHB train is expected to include 2 second-class baggage, guard, and divyaang-friendly cars. Notably, all of the coaches will be non-AC to better suit the tastes and requirements of the average person.
While the train coaches will be made at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the engines for this ground-breaking train are now being made at the prestigious Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW). It is important to note that ICF is now the only coach manufacturer for Indian Railways that produces Vande Bharat Express trains.
The Railway Board has set an ambitious goal for October, and it is believed that the prototype of the new train will be revealed before the end of the year.
It’s interesting to note that in 2017, Indian Railways debuted the Antyodaya Express with the goal of improving on-board facilities for unreserved passengers. The new train, however, is anticipated to include significant elements from the renowned Vande Bharat Express, and as a result, it is anticipated to outperform even the Antyodaya coaches in terms of luxury and amenities.
