On Sunday, March 26, Royal Challengers Bangalore held the RCB Unbox event to reveal their new uniform for the next IPL 2023 season. A crowded M Chinnaswamy Stadium erupted in applause when the great three of AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, and Virat Kohli arrived.
In a video that Kohli himself uploaded, De Villiers and Gayle were warmly greeted by fans when they came at the Chinnaswamy Stadium for RCB’s first practice before the IPL 2023 season.
Virat sent a video to his fans in which he gave them a look of the RCB home stadium as De Villiers and Gayle joined him there. Gayle was seen laughing with the former Indian captain as he performed the Gangnam-style dance movements, seeming to be in his cheeriest mood.
Virat Kohli shared the first images of the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s return to Bengaluru on Instagram, writing, “Nothing just the first team practice at Chinnaswamy and two of the legends of bengaluru back in front of our beautiful supporters.”
The post quickly gained traction and received 2 million likes in only 9 hours. Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian spinner, responded to the video by sending a few love emoticons.
RCB hasn’t played in front of its supporters at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in almost 3 years as a result of the Covid-19 IPL, which was hosted at various locations within safe bio-bubbles.
According to rumors, the home-and-away format will be back for the IPL 2023, with a total of 74 games scheduled to take place in 12 locations.
On April 2, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians in Bengaluru to open their season.
Last season, the team headed by Faf du Plessis finished fourth in the league standings and advanced to the playoffs. Even though they defeated the Lucknow Super Giants in the second Elimination, they couldn’t overcome the Rajasthan Royals.
In IPL 2023, RCB will attempt to win the championship and put an end to their long search for the trophy that has evaded them so far.
