Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma said that he has been used to playing without top bowler Jasprit Bumrah over the last six to eight months after his team’s eight-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore. On April 2 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Royal Challengers Bangalore completely destroyed MI with to the dominating batting of Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis.
Bumrah’s persistent ailment has prevented him from joining the squad, and supporters continue to wait to see him return to the pitch with his distinctive bowling motion. He has made many return attempts after sustaining a back ailment in August that prevented him from competing in the Asia Cup. When he was selected for India’s T20 World Cup team in September and even participated in the last two T20 International matches against Australia on September 23 and 25, the injury at first did not seem to be severe.
The top pacer was replaced by Sandeep Warrier on the Mumbai Indians team. “I have been used to playing without Jasprit Bumrah during the last six to eight months. Naturally, this is a different situation, but someone has to raise their hand and take the lead. We can’t go on thinking about it. We have no control over injuries, therefore we can’t really do anything about them.
The other members of the setup are also quite skilled, Rohit added at the post-game presentation. The Mumbai Indians lost their first game of the year and got off to a rough start by losing wickets early in the first innings.
