An ongoing operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district’s heavily wooded region resulted in the death of one terrorist and the probable injury of another on Saturday, according to the army.
An explosion set off by the militants on Friday during the continuing operation to flush out the terrorists resulted in the deaths of five army men and the injury of an officer with the rank of major.
“Around 7 am, the cordon, while closing in, detected and pinned down the terrorists in the ongoing combined operation by the Indian Army in conjunction with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in the Kandi forest, Rajouri sector.
A representative for the defence claimed, “In the ensuing gunbattle, one terrorist has been neutralised and one terrorist is likely to be injured.”
The murdered terrorist’s identify and organisation membership were not immediately known, but he claimed that a 9 mm handgun, its three magazines, an AK-56 rifle, four magazines, 56 bullets, and three grenades were all taken from him.
The speaker said, “The operation is underway.”
