The Canadian Prime Minister claimed on Tuesday that he is not trying to upset India after Justin Trudeau accused India of being responsible for the death of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who supported Khalistan. This response followed India’s retaliation, which included removing a Canadian diplomat from the New Delhi High Commission.
During the morning briefing before the House of Commons began, Trudeau noted.”The Indian government has to treat this situation seriously. We are already doing it. We don’t want to arouse or aggravate anything.
As a precaution, security has been stepped up around the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi, according to sources on Tuesday.
This action was taken in response to the growing strain in the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
On Monday, Trudeau accused the Government of India of being complicit in the murder of pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on its land in an emergency statement delivered in the Parliament.
On June 18, Nijjar was shot and killed in front of a Sikh cultural center in Surrey, British Columbia.
According to Trudeau, convincing claims of a connection between the death of Khalistan Tiger Force commander Nijjar and operatives of the Indian government are being vigorously investigated by Canadian security authorities.
