On the police net, the Congress Saturday questioned if the suspected conman Kiran Patel’s exploits in Kashmir were the result of a security breach or whether they were the result of some evil scheme that was foiled.
According to reports, Patel claimed to be the additional director (strategic and campaigns) in the Prime Minister’s Office. He was also reportedly given access to high-security areas and given Z-plus protection while staying at five-star hotels and popular tourist destinations in Kashmir.
“Z-plus security cannot be offered to anybody without directives from the Union home ministry,” said Pawan Khera, a spokesman for the Congress. Whose directives were it to offer this bandit Z-plus security? Why did the government go so long without learning about his activities?
Khera said that the government in Delhi and the administration in Jammu and Kashmir were “playing with national security,” and he added that the mystery surrounding the incident was similar to the one surrounding the Pulwama tragedy in February 2014.
Is this your information network and intelligence system in Kashmir, where a thug has been interfering with national security for five months? stated Khera.
He said that the Narendra Modi administration prioritised preserving the Adani group at the expense of good governance and worries about national security as a consequence.
“The Prime Minister should clarify to the nation if he or Amit Shah, the home minister, will be held accountable. Who will step down due to this serious error?
Khera did add, though, that the situation may signify some kind of complicated conspiracy.
“We won’t soon forget the 40 CRPF soldiers who died in Pulwama on February 14, 2019. We are still waiting to learn how 300 kg of RDX got there, the man stated.
The allusion was to a car bomb assault on a CRPF convoy that brought India and Pakistan near to war and aroused nationalist feelings that are thought to have supported the BJP in the April-May general election that year.
“We recall DSP Davinder Singh shouting, “Game mat bigado (Don’t ruin the game)” at a DIG. Which game? Who directed the film? Who is messing with the security of the nation? How is Davinder Singh doing right now? stated Khera.
The Modi administration’s hesitation to discipline Davinder, an anti-terror expert assigned in Kashmir, led the opposition parties to query why he wasn’t punished despite allegations of connections to militants.
“It occurred just before the general election (in 2019), and another election is set to take place. Everyone who inquires is labelled “anti-national” if they do so. What the heck is this, tampering with our security in the name of the PMO? Is this the federal government’s interpretation of “country first”? The spokeswoman for Congress said.
Khera responded to the BJP’s president J.P. Nadda’s assertion that Rahul Gandhi was “a permanent component of this anti-national toolbox” by using the phrase “toolkit” in relation to the Kiran Patel affair.
Is Kiran Patel a participant in a ruined game? Which game was it? What does this toolbox do? Khera enquired.
There are pictures circulating that allegedly show Kiran Patel meeting top BJP figures.
His Twitter account, which he uses under the name Kiran J. Patel, portrays him as a Prime Minister supporter.
According to Khera, Patel congratulated the prime minister for his work in Kashmir.
The spokesman for the Congress also emphasised that the Union home minister receives direct briefings from the Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor.
He said that it was inconceivable that someone in the PMO who claimed to be an extra director would continue to benefit from preferential treatment for five months without the Centre’s awareness.
If Patel was a genuine conman who was successful in duping the system, the situation shows the incapacity of those in charge of the system, according to Khera.
He inquired as to who in the PMO had been receiving Z-plus security and five-star treatment for months. He also pondered why the news of Patel’s March 3 arrest had been hidden for roughly two weeks.
The Congress finds it especially intriguing that the alleged fraud went on for five months despite Patel’s total lack of concealment or stealth.
He continued publicising his mission in Kashmir, releasing videos of his expeditions — from the Dal Lake to Gulmarg — under strong security, and boasting of industrialization of the area and a plan to make Srinagar into a “smart city”.
Welcome to Dr. Kiran Patel’s workspace, Patel captioned a photo of a snow-covered location that seemed to be at minus 9 degrees Celsius.
Even though a person posing as a PMO official routinely tweeted statements critical of Adani, it seems that the security apparatus in Kashmir and the Intelligence Bureau in Delhi failed to detect anything suspicious for five months. Even worse, he projected a cabinet shake-up, which is strictly forbidden for a government employee.
Quit being envious, I’ll keep my shine, Patel boasted from Srinagar with flirtatious remarks like “Tum jalan beshumar rakhna/ Hum zalwe barqarar rakhenge” and a picture of himself getting into an SUV while being flanked by armed military troops.
He listed 34 Meena Baugh, a neighbourhood featuring MPs’ houses, as his Delhi address.
