Very bad news has come from Thane in Maharashtra. Information has been received that 21 patients died in one night at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital of Thane Municipal Corporation. It is being told that due to the increase in the number of heavy patients in the hospital and insufficient doctors, about 21 people lost their lives in a single night. Dozens of these patients were admitted in ICU and many in the general ward.
Though the hospital administration is yet to confirm the news, it is being said that some patients, some of whom were above 80 years of age, died due to last-minute arrival at the hospital from private hospitals. But since the closure of the civil hospital, the doctors and medical system are getting less, because all the patients of Thane district are coming here. Let us inform you that in the past when 5 people died in a single day, MLA Jitendra Awhad and other parties went to the hospital and protested. But from last night till this afternoon, about 21 people are being feared dead.
Thane district belongs to Chief Minister Eknath Shinda. The Chief Minister’s Thane Municipal Corporation, despite being in power for many years, is in a deplorable condition and so is Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital. Recently, Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone of the Super Specialty Cancer Hospital in Thane. A multi-specialty hospital is being constructed by demolishing the building of the District General Hospital at that place. But in the meantime, the government is completely ignoring the oldest Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital.
