According to police, they detained a guy on Friday who they believe killed his nephew and was having illicit connections with his wife in the Maharashtra district of Palghar.
The accused, named as Vinesh Harishchandra Tandel (40), was harbouring suspicions that his nephew Atul Vilas Tandel (23) was having extramarital connections with his wife when the event allegedly occurred in the Dahanu neighbourhood of Palghar. Atul Vilas was assaulted by Rage Tandel when he was asleep inside his home. According to authorities, the accused stormed into the home and brutally murdered the man by hitting him with an iron pipe and a sharp knife before fleeing the scene.
The Wangaon police arrived to the scene as soon as they got information about the occurrence, took charge of the corpse, and then sent it for a post-mortem. After the registration of a case under section 302 of the IPC, the arrest was effected.
